Railway station area’s requalification | Rapallo The project was developed in a seminar activity in the ambit of PhD program “Methological problems in Architectural Design”, and take advantage of the possibility to use as a public space for the city the railway area on the sides of the train station of Rapallo, placing in them the last stop of buses, a parking area and in the meanwhile the prohibition to use the squares near the station as parking areas. The planning idea considers to transform an indeterminate space as the Molfino and Nazioni square in a urban public area, reducing the transit of vehicles and connecting through a new path the old historical centre of Cavour square with the new Molfino square. In this way the public space of the park around the hospital increase and through a building until the west board of Molfino square it is possible to realign the road façade of via Lamarmora. This square can be elevated until the level of the current loggia of the station. Nazioni Square is equipped for playful, recreational and cultural activities as spaces for exhibition or shows on the north side while in the south side there is a urban green area, that in this way constitutes the potential element of continuity between the different spaces in the centre of the city of Rapallo.rattività ludiche, ricreative e culturali, |
