Intervention for the safety of a part of SS 14 called "Via Orlanda" and redevelopment of the square San Benedetto in Campalto (VE)
The project has considered the realisation of a continue cycle and pedestrian path able to connect Villaggio San Marco’s urban areas with Campalto city centre, along an arterial road intensely congested that connect Mestre’s city centre with Tessera’s airport. The arrangement of San Benedetto square consists in the cornerstone of the urban requalification’s project and it is divided in four ambits, different from each other but related through the paths. The first is the churchyard, paved with stones and illuminated by light-refracting lampposts, the paving continue on the west side of the church until the priest’s house. This area of the square is characterized by a double colour paving with big Prun’s stone elemento, different from the white Prun’s stone paving around the steps of the churchyard, which is joined up to the different level of the new pavement. The second ambit is on the school side and it is constituted of a lawn, which is divided in two parts by a thicket of lime-tree. The thicket is crossed by a pedestrian path that connects the new churchyard with the pedestrian space around the civic centre, formed by a sequence of pink Prun’s sheet fixed in the ground. The third ambit is the church’s parking, which is delimitated by a sidewalk and it has a wide area where to park bicycles upon the cycle path. The parsonage’s parking and the bicycle one are partially screen off by a wall covered of Istria’s stone. This wall is the background of a fountain composed by an overflow tank, which is placed as background of the lawn. The fourth one is the pedestrian space around the civic centre: it is characterized by a homogeneous paving and by a series of seats that make this area suitable and equipped to rest under the trees’ shadows, considering a new pedestrian ramp to enter in the civic centre. enter in the civic centre. the trees’ shadows, considering a new pedestrian ramp to seats that make this area suitable and equipped to rest under the trees’ shadows, considering a new pedestrian ramp tothe seats that make this area suitable and equipped to rest under the trees’ shadows, considering a new pedestrian ramp tothe |
