|Realization of the tourist signs for the territorial connotation and the enhancement of the ancient Roman track called "via annia" and its guide
The project for valorisation of the ancient roman road Via Annia has been promoted in 2009 by Padova Municipality, Province of Rovigo, Direction for Landscape and Cultural Heritage Veneto Region – Italian Ministry for Cultural Activities and Heritage, it has been financed by ARCUS S.p.a., Veneto Region and Padova Municipality, and it’s directed by a Scientific Committee made up of people in charge of the involved archeological Superintendences of Italian Ministry for Cultural Activities and Heritage.
In this program’s setting, it was realized a project of visual communication integrated by a system for touristic signals concerning the archaeological landscape related to an ancient roman road. It twists and turns for more or less 200 km in the territories of Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia Regions, crossing five province of Rovigo, Padova, Venezia, Treviso and Udine.
First of all, the double target of the project has concerned the need to let the potential visitors perceive the possibility to enjoy a journey of total visit of those archaeological landscapes. Secondly, the possibility to reach the 32 sites, where didactic informative panels permit to learn more about the place and to let them perceive the importance of the extension of the visit paths towards other places, sites and archaeological museums in the two Region’s territory.
The didactic informative panels are placed in proximity of the most important archaeological sites, in a pedestrian area or as far as possible from circulation areas. The informative panel is formed by a vertical composite element reducible to the shape of an open book.
